Harley-Davidson’s 110th Birthday Celebration

If I had to explain, you wouldn't understand

This August, Harley-Davidson revved up to celebrate its 110th birthday with a celebration of awesome proportions. Taking place from August 29th through September 1st in Milwaukee, Harley-Davidson’s historic anniversary was a multi-faceted, weekend-long celebration.

Aside from the opportunity to spend a few days hanging out with fellow Harley enthusiasts and motorcycle accident lawyers, this festival featured the release of a new line of Harley bikes, musical performances from some of today’s biggest stars and a UFC fight you won’t want to miss.

Musical Entertainment

The musical entertainment for the event spanned three days and was headlined by Toby Keith, Aerosmith and Kid Rock. Each one of the aforementioned musical artists performed a show individually, with different performances taking place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

In terms of purchasing tickets, you were able to buy individual tickets for a particular performance or buy a pass for the entire festival depending upon your personal preferences. The festival passes were also tiered, with two-day and three-day options available.

In addition to the separately-ticketed musical performances mentioned above, the Summerfest grounds in Milwaukee hosted over 60 other bands throughout the course of the four day festival. Regardless of the location that you prefer or the music you’re interested in, one of these options surely suited your needs.

UFC Fight

In addition to the musical performances earlier in the week, Saturday night was highlighted by the UFC® 164 Harley-Davidson Hometown Throwdown. This UFC event saw Milwaukee’s own Anthony Pettis challenge Benson Henderson in this lightweight title defense, with a staggering win by Henderson, 31:4.

While it may be the fight that everyone is talking about, the lightweight title defense was just one of many other fights to take place as a part of the Hometown Throwdown. The event is riddled with Milwaukee natives looking to earn a victory in front of their hometown fans.

Anniversary Collection

Vending areas were set-up at which you can purchase commemorative 110th anniversary gear to help Harley-Davidson celebrate this historic occasion. Harley-Davidson has created an extensive line of 110th anniversary apparel that includes leather jackets, tee shirts, sweatshirts and other items. For fans who couldn’t make it to Milwaukee, you can purchase these items online and join in on the celebration at home.

Project Rushmore Bikes

Another cool aspect of the upcoming festival was Harley’s unveiling of its Project Rushmore bikes, a new line of motorcycles designed with the tastes and preferences of riders in mind. The 110th anniversary celebration was the first time that riders were able to demo the new bikes and to experience their new features.

Build Up

With this wide array of entertainment and Harley-related hype motorcycle enthusiasts were brimming with excitement. A video posted by Today’s TMJ4 reflectws the excitement that Harley fans felt all over the world. The video displays tents going up for what was described as a weeklong block party, home videos shot by motorcyclists on the open road and interviews with excited locals in Milwaukee.

Aside from the organized and officially ticketed aspects of this event, people were able to enjoy a variety of other amenities and experience the local culture. Bars and restaurants will be packed with fellow riders, the streets were lined with people on Saturday for a Harley-Davidson parade and free street parties took place across the city. Whether you wished to enjoy an organized show or to simply discover your own entertainment, you certainly wouldn’t have been at a loss for things to do.

Fastest Vehicles in the World – 2013 Edition

Sports cars tend to lead the competition when it comes to professional and unprofessional racing. People, especially celebrities, are inclined to invest in one just simply because they are fast. However, there is a fine line between having a fast vehicle and having one of the fastest vehicles in the world. This list is a compilation of the fastest vehicles to exist as of 2013.

1. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

The fastest vehicle to date is currently the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which was an upgrade from the original Bugatti Veyron. The Super Sport is currently priced at $2.4 million dollars, making it one of the priciest cars on the planet.

Running at 267.86 mph, the Bugatti is listed as the fastest car on the planet by Guinness’s World Record. However, it was briefly stripped of its title since the Super Sport was not made for retail, but the Venom GT version was – making it a “modified” vehicle. However, after looking at the claim, Guinness officials declared the vehicle was not modified enough to change the fundamentals of the design or engine of the vehicle.

2. Hennessey Venom GT

This vehicle was made to be the production vehicle in replace of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, making it widely available for consumer purchase. The Hennessey Venom GT is the fastest production vehicles to exist and has top speeds of 265.7 mph, giving it only a two-point disadvantage to the fastest vehicle on the planet – the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

However, the vehicle is in the Guinness’s World Record Book for being the fastest vehicle to go from 0-300km – reaching it in a time of 13.63 seconds.

3. Koenigsegg Agera R

Stepping in at number three, the Koenigsegg Agera R is said to be able to reach speeds of 273 mph – making it quicker than the Bugatti. However, the theory has yet to be proven, so the vehicle stands in at number three at the speeds it has been able to reach.

The Koenigsegg Agera R is currently one of the world’s most expensive vehicles, costing around $2.5 million US dollars.

4. SSC Ultimate Aero TT

Formerly known as the Shelby SuperCars, the SSC Ultimate Aero TT is one of the world’s fastest vehicles, standing in at number four. The Ultimate Aero TT is an American-built vehicle, one of the few outside of the Ford Mustang. This car and the Mustang is perfect for American drivers since parts for the SSC Ultimate Aero TT and 2003 Stang parts are easily accessible to the general public.

The SSC Ultimate Aero TT was once known as the world’s fastest production car, holding a speed of 256 mph. However, recent claims say that the updated vehicle is able to attain speeds of up to 272.5 mph – beating the Bugatti. However, until these claims are validated, the Bugatti still remains the reigning champion.

5. Koenigsegg CCXR

Standing in line with the Koenigsegg fleet, the Koenigsegg CCXR is the fifth fastest car on the planet, not to mention one of the most environmentally-friendly super cars. Attaining speeds around 253 mph, the Koenigsegg is a top of the line vehicle.

Conclusion

Having super cars as a hobby can be costly, but the satisfaction behind these vehicles is endless. It should be noted that these vehicles are only the fastest street-legal vehicles – there are certainly vehicles that have attained higher speeds, but they are illegal for street driving.

Get to know something about Lemon Automobiles

Buying a new car is one of the most satisfying feelings you can experience. Owning a new car is a feeling of accomplishment and achievement. For most people that feeling lasts until they have to make the first payment or have their first little scratch on the car. For an unlucky few people however their car will be classed as a lemon leading to much frustration and problems.
What exactly is a Lemon Car?
Most cars have a fair share of problems such as breakdowns, engine troubles, and general wear and tear. For a car to be classed as a true lemon car then it needs to have a number of attempts to repair problems with no success. It can also be that the car is considered too dangerous to be on the road or put the driver and passengers in a life threatening situation. The term lemon is slang and means poor quality or a worthless investment. Unfortunately many car manufactures and sellers will try to pass off a car as a good vehicle when in fact it is a lemon car and make break and be defective after a period of weeks or months.
Lemon Law for Cars
Lemon laws were written to protect buyers when purchasing a new car. Lemon laws ensure that the car purchased meets a specific criteria or quality and performance. This helps buyers to avoid making a purchase they might regret. Automobile Lemon Laws vary depending on where you are based and it’s important to check the details with your local government. Most of the time lemon laws do not cover used or leased cars and are only valid for new cars.
If you think you are covered by the lemon law then you are able to demand a full refund for a car that is defective. The manufactures should be able to refund this to you or fix the problems entirely. You may be entitled to a full refund or your car will be replaced. Be sure to keep your car insurance phone number to hand to see what you are entitled to.
When are you protected by the Automobile Lemon Law?
Some examples of when you are protected by the lemon law include when there is a manufacturing defect and the performance, safety, or quality of the car is jepodised. You are also covered when the vehicle reaches a specific mileage law. In some areas the vehicle cannot exceed a specific amount of miles. This may also be valid if the vehicle has not reached the minimum amount of miles. You are also covered if the manufacturer cannot fix the problem or give you a solution.
If you have purchased a new car recently that is showing signs as above its important to contact your local government or auto transport law department to find out what the rules are legally in your local area. The laws ensure that you are compensated for any problems caused and can help to avoid your car being deemed un-drivable and a lemon.
